FOR SAMSUNG A900 and OTHER PHONES

y'all better give me lots of rep points for this lol
    you mods better to!!!! lol
I have tried this and it works

go to Phone Uploader And follow the instructions

It is real easy. The easiest way I have found.
    Type in your phone number
    the name of the file
    the location on your computer

It sends a text message to your computer
Open it and hit the go button or options and go
    File will download

It will give you the option to listen to or set as. Select set as and make it for whichever calls you want.

    Enjoy.

    You are my god

I'm not even with sprint and it worked. I'm using a Bell phone with MTS here in canada. It didn't send me the ringer but it worked perfectly doing it the manual way. Thanx a bunch

I guess there is a limit as to the size of the file to upload? Are you able to actually send a full song in mp3 format over the uploader? So far i havent been able to.

Re: How to > Put mp3's as ringtones on your phone

i think it is just for ringtones. if you want to put a full song on just use cable that came with your phone and dump the song into mass storage. If you need any help with this let me know

Re: How to > Put mp3's as ringtones on your phone

alright i figured out the upload tool you posted. its bad ass btw. i converted a particular mp3 i had to aac and cut out a section of the song so it could be my ringer. i sent the file using the uploader and everything went fine. but when i downloaded the file and was ready to make it my ringer, the listen option came up. when i clicked on it some options came up that that read: A handler is needed to use this content type. then the options "get handler" and cancel came up. i clicked on get handler and it took me to the screen saver download page.....what the hell is going on? anyways, do you have any idea on how to make this work? does the a900 play aac for ringers?

also, i converted another mp3 to aac and dumped it into the music folder on the phone. the song was about 4 minutes or so and when i converted it the size of the file went down about 50% (saving me a lot of space for more music not downloaded from sprint) however, when i played the song it went from 4 minutes to about 20 minutes worth of play time....???....anyways, i thought that was wierd and i was going to ask if you had similar results at some point

Re: How to > Put mp3's as ringtones on your phone

my ringers have been just straight mp3's. Have not converted them to aac

Had not had the issue of the song play time going extreme. LOL good if you REALLY like the song

Re: How to > Put mp3's as ringtones on your phone

Note that if you don't have internet included in your plan you'll pay a few cents per kilobyte to use the uploader. To answer another person's question, I've used this uploader for all kinds of files, not just ringers. Just scroll down the page a bit for the list of supported file types...
What files can I upload with this?

Here is a list of the different formats that the uploader supports. Your phone may not support the file, so some experimenation and trial & error may be necessary.
    • Images: jpg, jpeg, png, wbmp, cmx
    • Sounds: mid, midi, qcp, mp3, mp4, amr, wav wma
    • Misc: 3gp, pmd, mp4
    • Midlets: jar (jad files are not needed, nor can they be used)

Re: How to > Put mp3's as ringtones on your phone

hi guys, i also have A900, i connected it to my pc to transfer music files. it worked only in my media player. however i was trying to assign it as my ringtone but it would not work , i could not find away to assess mass storage in my ringer option. i did the whole thing of editing the music file to about 50sec, the file is already coverted to mp3. so im guessing the only way is thru the web?
