i have searched thousands of threads and thousands of forums and i still dont know how to get my A950 from telus to connect with Bitpim the software version is A950.ZE06. my computer recognizes the phone but bitpim doesn't. when i go to set up the com port i click on browse and due to the driver com4 is labeled samsung so i tried that and i tried 7 and many other numbers. I NEED HELP I DONT WANT TO PAY $2 PER RINGTONE or the problem could be that i downloaded and installed the wrong driver, can u give me a link to the proper driver

Alot of people have tried to get through that but its really hard.. you might want to consider reflashing your phone with a different software, I think i heard of someone doing it and in the end it worked out good

That makes no sense at all... why would you reflash your phone?! All it will do is reset everything, that has no point in it. Don't reflash your phone.

Now, in device manager, what is the phone's baud rate set at?

Win key + tab (assuming your using Windows XP) opens up device manager. It will be under "USB modems". Baud rate is the connection rate between the PC and the phone.

just a thought but, the easy way to know if bitpim is talking to you phone is if you can open the file system. If it will not in windows device manager goto the modem, and slect the phone. Then advanced tab and then advanced to find out what com port the phone really is on.

    hope it helps.

    Re: Bitpim with Telus

are you trying to use bitpim's ringtone page to upload the ringtone, if you are you can stop now. Telus does not release their directory setup so people like bitpim can make their software load. yes they are trying to get you to pay for the ringtones. Thus you need to do it via the filesystem.

oh and just a thought but you may have to change the comm mode on the phone, I know how for the A650.

it was in a secert menu, but once the SIO mode was changed from I think it was DS&HF to QXDM bitpim was able to talk to the phone adn read the file system.
