    Hi!

I recently bought an SCH-A930 and a Sandisk 1GB Transflash card. The first time I inserted the card into the phone, the memory usage showed 992MB, and 2MB used by system - the rest was available. I don't know what made me decide that I should format the card but I did, and ever since then, it's 992MB and 992M used by system.

I went to my service provider who said this phone doesn't even work with 1GB. I then called Samsung USA who said they do not support 1GB cards...

I've seen many people here using 1GB cards with this phone... Can anybody help me? I can't return the card (Don't live in the States ) and I really want to get it to work...

    Can anybody help me?
    Thanks!

i have no idea. Most people i know with the phone use the 1 gig cards just fine, formatted and all. have you tried using a reader to connect to your comp and reformat from there?

    Re: SCH-A930 and Transflash 1GB

I've connected it to my computer but when I format it there and move it back to the phone, the phone says "Card isn't mine" so unless I format it with the phone again, the card is unreadable.

When I do format it - it says 996MB on card, 996MB used by system...
The first time I inserted the card into the phone it actually said only 2MB used by system but my brother and I thought we should format before we started using it and that's when trouble began...

Anyone have an idea how to solve this?
    I would be very grateful!

The card must be formatted by the phone.
The settings can be changed as to where stuff is saved on the phone or the card.
What exactly is the problem other than the memory issuue???
Are you out of space, can you put stuff on the card and phone with the card in or what???

    Re: SCH-A930 and Transflash 1GB

The problem is that the phone recognizes the card as 1GB (Says around 996MB) but then it also says 996MB used (by system) When I go to Card->Memory Usage.

So whenever I set the settings to save to the card and do something, it says "Memory card full"...

I've formatted the card by the phone like 20 times... Nothing helps.
The card is a brand new Sandisk 1GB transflash, and like I said, before I formatted it for the first time, it said 996MB and only 2MB used by the system...

    Got it to work!

My provider are such idiots! They've disabled the feature where you can format the card using Windows (FAT32)! If you do that, the phone doesn't even recognise the card!

They want to disable the user from accessing the card using a computer... so the card in their user interface is formatted using FAT and not FAT32. Then windows doesn't read well FAT so you can't access the card using a card reader...

So I found a little program that is used for formatting flash cards and now as long as I don't format my card using the phone - it's 1GB alright!
