My friend has a Cingular SYNC and I just purchased mine the other day, thus, I have an AT&T SYNC. He gave me two of his ringtones which work perfectly on his SYNC (both under 500kb, MP3, 30 sec., and successfully transferred). When I try to set it as a ringtone on my SYNC, it says the file size is too large to set it as a ringtone! I can play it in the phone's Media Player fine, but it refuses to be set as a ringtone in the Normal Profile. I was wondering what is AT&T's file size limit...or what is the new SYNC's limit. I'm not sure if it's the provider or the phone...and frankly, I'm confused.

Re: AT&T Sync vs. Cingular Sync

While researching info on the Sync just now, I saw that the ATT branded Sync has a ringtone size limit of 300 kb vs. 600 for the Cingular. Bummer.
