I just acquired a phone from a friend who used to have Tmobile. He has not used this phone in 6 months and does not remember his PIN number so it will not let me in to do anything Does unlocking bypass this or is it hopeless? . I would love to unlock this phone to use it. I am on Cingular. How would I go about doing this?

Re: Unknown PIN #
It would help if you identified the phone model. CDMA phones default to the last four digits of the telephone number while GSM phones default to 00000000. If the original owner changed the password, the phone has to be reset to return the password to the default if you do not know the new password. The code for resetting many Samsung phones is *2767*3855# If this is the correct reset code, you will be warned before you confirm it. If you are given any warning other than the phone is about to be reset, cancel out of the process and do a Google search for Samsung reset codes.
