I got my wife what she asked for in February of this year, the Blackjack II. She loves the phone's design, the screen, the buttons (loves texting). She loves getting her emails on her phone. Everything was perfect in the beginning and I was impressed with what you could do with this phone. I was a little nervous adding the $39.99 internet onto our already $150.00 cell bill but she was happy.
A couple weeks passed and the phone began to get errors when she tried to access the internet. Email was fine. Texting was fine. She just couldn't get the internet to work. Error 4o4? I think. When she went to get help on it the internet would work. This game would continue for the next few months until recently it's stopped working for days at a time. The only help the local AT&T store could provide is removing the battery/sim card and restarting the phone. This helps sometimes, but not all.
My question is is there anyone else that has this trouble with internet phones? I live in Western Arkansas. Is it my area or my wife's phone? I was looking to maybe get the new IPOD phone for her with all the trouble the Blackjack has been, but I don't want another part time working phone. Anyone else out there having problems like this with suggestions?

Re: Blackjack II Internet problems
Hello there, I have had a succession of data capable phones that I use to browse the internet with, including the original Blackjack. I have never had a sustained problem of any sorts. On rare occassions I have been unable to access the internet due to congestion, and my device has timed out. I believe there was twice that AT&T also had a nationwide data outage.
To me it sounds like the phone and I would recommend you get it replaced under warranty.
Hope this helps.
PS: The unlimite data on the Blackjack II is $29.99, does your $39.99 include messaging or another add-on perhaps?

Verify the settings:

It could also be that the certain webpage is down if you get 404 error on it but not the help and other cingular owned pages. The 3g data package is amazing though when its up. I was going to get an iphone but when i got my blackjack the iphone didnt have the highspeed internet.
