Re: Samsung M630 (highnote) ringtone question

I have the same problem of not getting any sound. Did you ever figure out how to get around this issue and get the sound to work when the ringtone is assigned to a contact?

Re: Samsung M630 (highnote) ringtone question

The files have to be in the folder called DCIM and then in the sub folder called 100SSMD. This is if you have a micro SD card in your phone.

Re: Samsung M630 (highnote) ringtone question

Okay i had the same problem as you guys did...everytime i tried to assign my 3g2 ringtone it would say "saving to phone...please wait" and then it just took me back to my main screen...

Now the way I fixed it was...I recorded my own lil 4 sec video and then saved it to my memory card in DCIM, 100SSMED...

After that i just went to my settings for the ringtone type, set my lil 4 sec video as my ringtone, went back and saved my 3g2 i wanted and worked...werid...but worked...and also i named my 3g2 file i wanted to something similar to like "SSPX0005"...just in case the high note was really picky...

So FYI thats just what i did...

Re: Samsung M630 (highnote) ringtone question

    Okay Simple...All i did Was

    1. made my own 3g2 ringtone
    2. put my 3g2 ringtone into my memory card in the folder DCIM, 100SSMED
    3. recorded a "random video" on the phone
    4. make sure the "random video" was saved in the same folder mention before
    5. went to settings, sounds, ringer type, incoming calls, with id or without doesnt matter, and then my videos, in memory card, and selected the "random video"
6.and after you do that just go through settings, sounds,....again and this time just set your 3g2 ringtone.

    and thats all i did...
Also keep your 3g2 ringtone name short and easy...

    Hopefully that help

I have a video in the works guys, I'm just finalizing it and getting it ready to post to Youtube. Post processing is taking a while right now, so it might not be up until tomorrow, but I'll let you know as soon as its up.

Re: Samsung M630 (highnote) ringtone question

The highnote will play Movies at 192 X 144, 25fps, bitrate 500 as a 3g2 file. The sound I am using is at 22050, 16 bit Stereo, bitrate 128, just to keep files sizes down. I belive the sound portion can go higher, this goes in your DCIM 100 folder with your pictures and camcorder videos and yes it will look like a box with a red X on it. I've recently made a ringtone useing Myxer.com and it works with incoming calls. What they sent me was an mp3. at a poopie bit rate of 32. If anyone could figure out how to E-mail ringtones to there phones to get the tones in the My Stuff folder we could begin to find out how far we could push the phone. What bitrate mp3? What kind of aac? Theres some sort of other file type as well, but as far as quality ringtones its going to be between mp3 and aac.
