My samsung tocco sim is full but won't let me alter the save settings.?

When I first got the phone I had no problems with texting. As far as I knew all messages were being saved to my phones memory and not the sims. Last week however it has started telling me that the sim memory on my phone is full and messages need to be deleted. This means my phone is only allowing me to get 20 texts, and that is provided I delete all of them. What do i do?

hey you know what happens to me with my phone it says it is supposed dehecho that I have room for 500 messages and I get that memory is full and I have 200 and I just fit another 20 do not know if the sim or sd card! if you know I can do please alerts
