I don't understand about all this phone locking stuff. I thought if you stayed with the same carrier, everything was okay. I tried to sell my Alias 2 cell phone on eBay, stipulating that it was for Verizon only. The buyer said he took it to Verizon to activate and they told him the phone was locked and could not be activated for another user. Is this true? Or did this buyer just decide he didn't want the phone and used that excuse to get his money back? I need to know before I try to sell it again. Thanks for any help you can give.

Re: Phone locked?
Verizon works with CDMA technology, and just because the phone is CDMA it doesn't mean that it's not locked. What i mean is that CDMA carriers ( Sprint, Verizon, centennial, etc...) locked their phone in a digital way. That didn't come out right!!!!
OK. let's say that you have this Alias 2 from verizon, if it's to use with the same company (Verizon) then there should be no problem unless the ESN have some kind of conflict, like early termination, some debt to the wireless carrier, etc... Now, if it's to use it with a different company, like Sprint or Centennial, then the phone needs to be unlock so that the new carrier can access and activate the phone. But even with that, no company takes another company's phone because it would never work the way it's suppose to. Some features won't work.
I take it that you have the phone with you again, so I recommend that you talk to one of the Customers Rep. and explain what happened. Good luck.
