I have a different phone and provider now, but wish to use an Alltel Samsung Muse SCH-U706 strictly as an MP3 music player.
1) Does anyone know if the headphone jack will support (wired) stereo, or does it have a 3-conductor (mic, one earpiece, ground) jack? (Or is Bluetooth the only option for stereo)?
2) I would also like to save what I can of my kid's text messages, sounds, ring tones etc. I have read that BITPIM will not support this phone, but QPST is supposed to. I cannot get QPST to recognize the phone. I'm wondering if I need to have data mode enabled, if PC connection should be set to USB modem, or no connection, or any other suggestions to recognize it.
Thank you
Murray

Re: Samsung Muse: 2 questions headphones/QPST
Well, I had a significant breakthrough today. Using the QPST Configuration part, it still didn't see the Muse on COM29, which is what BITPIM suggested. BITPIM saw an 'Other CDMA' phone on COM29 but gave zero access.
I clicked a couple things like accept client connections and an IP address (instead of ? no IP address?) and it came up with some specific info! Still won't work with anything but SPC000000 even though a different one is displayed. Then EFS Explorer has worked every time once it found the phone.
I downloaded everything but three MP3 ring tones...for some reason it won't open them ?!?
I don't know how to access the .db stuff yet, so I can't see any files types I read people changing.
I am now curious if Bluetooth handicaps can be reduced. The Muse only seems to allow sending VCARDS.
