Manually sync email on Samsung Galaxy Reverb

I don't want email coming into my phone because I don't use my Samsung reverb cell phone email much. It only runs my battery down with all the email coming in. So how can I turn it off and
turn it on only when I want to use it.

You can set it to only sync manually. Go to settings > accounts > email > click on the email account > uncheck sync

Now when you open the email program you can click the sync arrows in the top right to sync the email with your phone.
