Viewing the Amount of Free Internal Memory (RAM):
- While on the home screen, press the "Menu" button on your device
- Tap "Settings"
- Find and tap "Memory Settings"
- Tap "Memory Status" > "Shared memory"
- View the information regarding your handset's RAM
Tip: To reduce memory use, try removing some widgets from the home screens. Also, remember to restart your device regularly by pressing and holding the Power button.
Formatting the SD Card:
WARNING! Formatting your SD card will result in the loss of all the data (apps, personal files etc) that has been stored on the SD card.
- While on the home screen, tap the "Menu" key
- Go to "Settings"
- Scroll to and press "Memory settings"
- Touch "Memory card details"
- Tap "Format" and press "Yes" to confirm your action
Setting the Default Memory Storage Location:
By default, data will be stored on the SD card. To change the location, follow the steps below:
- Tap the "Menu" button on your device while viewing a home screen
- Select "Applications"
- Tap "Camera"
- Press "Setup"
- Access the "Settings" tab
- Scroll to and tap the "Storage" drop-down menu
- Select either "Phone" or "Memory card" as your default storage location
Viewing the Amount of free Space on the SD Card:
- Tap the "Menu" key while viewing a home screen
- Tap "Settings"
- Go to "Memory settings"
- Tap "Memory card details"
- The information is located in the "Available" field
Opening or Deleting Files on your SD card Using Your Smartphone:
- While on the home screen, tap the "Menu" key
- Tap "My Files"
- On the drop-down menu, select "Memory Card"
- Navigate to the file that you wish to access
- Perform one of the actions below:
- To open a file: tap the file that you wish to view
- To delete a file:
- Select the desired file
- Tap "More"
- Locate and tap "Delete"
- Press "Yes" to confirm
- To open a file: tap the file that you wish to view
Opening or Deleting Files Using Your Computer:
- Connect your handset to your PC using the USB cable that came with your smartphone
- On your computer, click on "Open device to view files using Windows Explorer" in the AutoPlay window
- In Windows Explorer, double-click the "Card" folder
- Navigate to the folder that contains the desired file(s)
- Select the file (open with double-click) or delete it if you so desire
- When finished, disconnect your gadget from your PC safely
Transferring Files between Internal Storage and SD Card:
- Tap the "Menu" key on your device, while viewing a home screen
- Tap "My Files"
- Tap the drop-down menu and select "Phone"
- Press "Manage" and tap "Copy"
- Select the files that you wish to transfer
- Tap "Copy" and tap "Memory Card"
- Navigate to the desired folder or create a new one if necessary
- Tap "Paste Here" in the desired location
Transferring Files Between SD Card and Your Computer:
- Connect your smartphone with your PC using the USB cable
- On your computer, in the AutoPlay window, click "Open device to view files using Windows Explorer"
- In the Windows Explorer window, double click the "Card" folder to access it
- Copy / drag / drop the desired files from your computer into the "Card" folder, or the other way around
- When finished transferring the files, safely disconnect your smartphone from your PC
