samsung galaxy s4 mini bluetooth

hi i need help
iv had a galaxy s4 mini for 4 weeks and can pair blue tooth to my van blue tooth. been told by van supplier its not compatible with blue tooth in van.
my old Samsung galaxy s2 was ok with blue tooth in van. ive spoke to Samsung and the reason their says it is the 4.0 version blue tooth. is it possible to change blue tooth version
can any body help with this issue

Unfortunately you can't downgrade bluetooth, no. Do you get any kind of error when you try to pair them? What kind of van? Is it just a voice interface, (call played through speakers, van has a mic) or are you trying to get phonebook and music pairing too?
