I have a V205 that I flashed to the V200. I want to create or download ringtones that actually sound like music.

i made a few ringtones that are of actual music. the only problem is that the clips can only be about 2-3 seconds long.

v200 is the same as the v205. only the firmware is different. the v205 has the t-mo branded firmware. the v200 is unbranded (unlocked) firmware, you can use with any network without unlock codes, etc. same thing with s100 and s105. useless information but it seems to me that if the model number ends with a 5, it's t-mo locked. if there's a 7 at the end, then it's cingular locked. for at&t locked it would end with a 6.

I'm a cell n00b, but obviously you need a data cable to flas the BIOS right?

next question would be I have the 205, I want to make is a v200 so where would I get the proper Bios/firmware for this?

would it be on that link above, or do I have to find it elsewhere?

that's cool, we were all n00bs at one time or another. the link i provided here has the flash software and firmwares that you need. obviously the newest firmware for sgh-v200 is what you need.

and yes, you need the cable to flash. make sure before flashing that you save all your numbers to your sim. flashing will erase everything on your phone. you will not be able to back up your ringtones, wallpaper or pics you have taken with your phone.

    good luck.

Alright, since I can't use my WAP I don't have much to back up.

Aside from the branded start ups and shutdowns, and the ability for the camrea to zoom, what are the differences between a v200 firmware and v205?
