I'm pretty sure I got all the software from here. http://www.sprintpcsinfo.com/modules...howpage&pid=27

    1) Buy a data cable
    2) Install Bitpim .7.18 not the .62 version (put it in a folder you can remember)
    3) Install the sanyo driver I know that the 8100 driver says future dial. But the 5300 uses the same driver I think. In that same page click on phone section and find the 5300. There is a sanyo usb driver. Download it
    4) Plug in your USB cable and phone and wait until it recognizes it.
5)Go into device manager and look for the USB controller and double click on it.
    6) Next click on install driver, but you'll have to install it manually by selecting the folder that you saved it to earlier.
    7) That should be it. At least that's what I did.
    Hope this helps

dude you have to download the sanyo driver and put it in a folder that you can find. I don't know where you got the info to get the driver in the XP folder. The reason to download the sanyo driver is because even though XP assigns driver to different hardware on your computer it doesn't have the driver for the phone. The drivers are the same for the 8100 and the 5300 even the chargers are the same. So if you find the 5300 driver you can use it. My girlfriend has the 5300 and I have the 8100 and we both use bitpim with the same driver.

Sorry I don't have IM but I just picked the XP folder that the driver is in. When I double clicked on the XP folder it just showed me programming code. I didn't have to pick a file in the folder.

all the drivers that are assigned to them are just usb drivers, they arent assigned to any special device

when I pluged my phone into my computer, it recognized what it was, and when I clicked on it in device manager, it said there are no drivers assigned to this device. That's when I installed it manually.

I'll setup an IM then I'll email you when I do that. Just a little busy with work right now. I don't think we should keep posting because the other info is already on here.
