Hi, I just recently got an 8100 from Bell. As it turns out, they really want to push their pay-per-download ringtones and screensavers on you, so they actually removed the PC Sync menu, blocking access to any files you uploaded to your phone using a data cable. If you have this menu, please use BitPIM to make a backup of your filesystem, and email it to me... When I get it figured out, I will post back.

See More: If your 8100 has the PC Sync menu, please read!

i plan to compare the memory of a bell phone with a phone that has a PC sync menu and figuring out where exactly the link to the menu USED to exist, and then adding it back using bitpim. hopefully this works and hopefully my phone will turn back on when im done. lol... as far as ur downloads not working, do u mean u cannot download via wap? because my wap downloads work fine. its files you upload via data cable that you cannot access...

I see that the bitpim site has information on the crippled firmware that bell uses. Sounds like more is required then enabling the PC-sync option. Can anybody clarifiy whether content delivered over the internet from providers other than bell, read myself, can be fully accessed? Can I browse to my own server for ringtones, images and such?
