Sanyo RL-4930

I just got the Sanyo RL-4930... All in all, its a great phone... However, when I go to charge the phone, the screen backlight stays on the whole time I charge it.... If you go into the Display settings and change the backlight setting the backlight still stays on during charging...

Anyone with any suggestions on how to get the backlight to turn off while charging?
