I have a Sanyo VI-2300. When you go to send a text message, you can choose from the phone book, cell phone number or recent list. Can you erase this recent list? Mine has numbers from months ago — people i've only text messaged once.

    See More: Recent list

Okay, I think the following process should be similar for you even though I have different phones. I am looking at an LG PM-225 AND a Samsung PM-A840 right now, both are on Sprint service, and I have them both in my hand.

For both of these phones, the process to delete the recent list is nearly identical. When you click to open the Recent List, and you are looking at the list, do you notice at the bottom of the screen where it says Options? Have you tried pressing the softkey below that word? When I push the softkey on the Samsung it has an option for Erase All. But on my LG, I have to select the ones I want to delete, then press Options and Delete. This should be the same for the Sanyo, as most Sprint phones are somewhat similar in their user interface.

I have had ALOT of sanyos...

Sanyo comes with an Outgoing list, Incoming, Missed, AND recent call list.. ( yes i know 4, odd but its good to have recent call list incanse u delete a number out of the other 3, its still there... ALSO, the recent call list is good cause its ALL 3 lists combined into one and yes it is deleteable.. it holds up to 48 numbers, maybe more.. mine got up to 48 recent calls once ).. just tellin ya what i like about sanyo! hehe... a little off topic, but its ok.. lol.. sorry alrite back to the subject at hand.........

Okay..click the menu button ( in the middle )
    messaging
    texts
inbox ( or outbox, which ever u want to delete )
options ( right side top button )
then ERASE * to erase that ONE message.. if u want to delete ALL, scroll down to ERASE ALL and hit ok* and there ya go

Here's my problem.... I can't see the recent list until I go to send a text message. And the only two options when I select a number is save and done.

Is there any Option before you select a number? Because I cannot see the recent list on either of my phones either until I am getting ready to send. But both phones have a softkey I can select for Options before I select any number. Sorry if this is no help to you, but I thought it would be a similar process. Maybe someone with your phone will see your message and reply, just remember it might take a while to get another response. Good luck, I hope you figure it out.

the only words above the two soft keys are done and save. I hope someone can shed some light. Not that it's a big problem, LOL. But I'd like to get some old numbers deleted.
    Thanks everyone.

I have the same problem with my VI-2300. I would also like to delete the "recent messages" area from the text messages area. Does anyone have a solution for this?
