Siemens S55 can play Midis bigger than 50kb with firmware 1.6..and have actually 1mb of space but shares with other features like Phone Book that admits 500 entries and more than 14 items each..It actualy have a screen that supports 4096 but during the small size and the option of Bluethoot can be more coloress..

Siemens S55 is the cheapest Bluetooth GPRS Java Polyphonic triband colorscreen phone on the market. You can use the Siemens Data Exchange software to upload and download files with ease and even use it as a mobile hard drive.
It is PACKED with features. It is feature competitive with phones twice as expensive.
Some common complaints are:
* 101x80 256 color screen as opposed to higher resolution screens of the competition.
* D-pad is a bit fiddly.
* GPRS, Bluetooth and clip-on camera suck battery life badly when activated and used.
But overall it is great value for money.
P.S. Quiet ringtones are easily increased in volume using a freeware program called MIDIFixer.

I got one too, s55 and using it with rogers in ontario canada. Love the phone, and the camera with flash... takes great bar pictures . the battery life is pretty good if you turn off gprs and bluetooth like transitional said. I have found from experimentation that wav's do not play, neither do mp3's... only mmf and midi's.. the only thing it lacks is a good basic ring tone ,.... which i am still searching for.. any one knowwhere i can find a basic telephone ringer, or one like the t-Mobile ringer?

i have a s55, too. i must say that i'm quite pleased. the resolution and color depth of the display could be better, though.
the camera is not very good, though. pictures with a samsung are better by far!!

Flash vs. Battery!
I think the flash consumes way to much battery power!
A few pix with the flash and you need to recharge!
Shouldnt be that way...

the s55 would be a much nicer phone if you could upgrade its memory and play bigger midis...

It's an amazing phone....But it's only 2 flaws are the screen (only 256 colors) and that the memory is a bit lower than some of the other Siemens phones. But still this phone is one of the best out there

i have a s55+cam too but i think the system really sucks because it's slow and the s55 hasn't got enough memory.
