The Indian government is implementing new regulations that say that all cell phones sold on the local market were to be built in panic button that would allow to quickly call the emergency services.
This law will take effect from January 2017 and in 2018 will be supplemented by another regulation requiring that every smartphone had to have a GPS that will be used to quickly locate the person requesting help.
Detailed rules have not yet been established, the Indian media have reported, however, that the "Panic Button" will work through a long press digit 5 or
9 on the keyboard which in turn is directly linked to the emergency number.
