hey well i have had a motorola v400 for the past year and its a decent phone for what i paid for it (free), but now its time to upgrade.
I was looking at the v551 but then saw the s710a and almost fell in love because its got everything im looking for in a phone, including what looks to be a pretty good camera. But before i blow $300 on a phone i want to see what other people so say. so i have a couple questions:

1)i have a apple powerbook running tiger, does anyone know if the bluetooth will communicate with it, and will i be able to transfer files like photos and mp3s, or just contacts?

2)i want to use the phone as an mp3 player, i know 128 isnt much memory but i will just pick up an additional memory stick. How is the quality/loudness over the headphones, and over the speaker? my friend has a motorola e815 and i like it a lot, but cingular does not offer the phone. how does the mp3 capabilities and other features compare to the 815?

3)how is the signal strength? does it get reception pretty well? and how is the call quality/clarity?

4)any other advice/warnings before buying this phone

any help/responses would be helpful, thanks

    great

The S710 is an excellent phone. Ive used and tried almost every new phone by SE. From the Z800, W800, to the K750. My 2 primary phones right now are the P910a and the S710a. The S710a has by far the best reception of all my phones, I would of kept it except for the lackluster mem card option of only taking Duo cards and not the Pro cards. On the cingular network, the S710a gets better reception than any of their other phones, places where I get a full signal my buddy's razor gets 2 bars. The sound quality is excellent and most of the function are great. Plus the bigger screen.

yep, happy with the s700i i reckon its a really good fone. ive had no trouble with it at all.

the sound is great on it and the camara pictures are very clear. plus the size of them is great for emailing and printing out.

Only negative thing is the video, if its important to you, i think its pretty small, and when u put the video onto the computer it doesnt show up so well.

Lots of stuff to keep you occupied on it.

    thanks to all who replied.
i got the phone and i love it, except for the whole not being able to use pro duo cards. ive heard theres ways to use other cards than the duo, and ive been experimenting with different formatting and such...

might be worth it to wait a little bit if u can for the walkman phones since they will be better and since prices will drop..
