I've been with Cingular for probably over 6 or 7 years. It was awful and now that you can keep your number I just went to a Verizon store and signed up.
The problem is that Verizon said they were unable to transfer my old Cingular SIM card from my Sony Ericsson T616 to my new Verizon LGVX8000.
This is a HUGE problem for me because I clearly have tons of data on that SIM card from over 7 years.
What can I do? Please help. I'm hoping I posted this in the best forum topic.

Why not just send the data to a pc then sync the new phone with it? Or you could sms the info to the other.
