Re: W810i
You have 2 options:
1) Purchase an unlocking cable and let that do all the work (costly).
2) See a proffesional unlocker. This would involve giving up your phone for a day or so at most and most probably a small fee (in the region of £5 - £10).
2 is probably the safest and best value option. Most people only purchase the cables if they are proffesional unlockers themselves and need it for their buisinesses. You could also ask your network to do this too, but your likely to get a much higher fee (in the region of £25 - £50). Good luck wth whatever choice you make though.

Re: W810i
Unfortunatley not with Sony Ericsson's. I've done it with Nokia's, but they're Different. If I were you, I'd just leave it locked unless you absolutely must change to a desired network. It's nice to be able to think that you can just put any old sim in and away you go, but is this factor really important - I mean it still plays music and takes pictures, right? So There would be little point.
