    Hi all,

Just got this new W810i. I have already stored some numbers on my contact list but all calls received are shown as 'unknown' caller also making it hard to return the missed calls.
Anyone know how I can go about setting this correctly?

You got me worried now as I have been planning to get the same phone in about 2 weeks time.

But for your situation, this is my first question that I would like to ask you: Have to subscribed to the "Call Display" option from your cell phone service provider? These days "call display" is not a standard service feature. It has to be bought as an option.

it may also be that the person calling you has their phone not to send their caller id. i can do that on my phone. even if you save the number it will still register as unknown caller.

I'm quite sure this is because you are not subscribed to the caller ID feature. My phone is that way. Now if you are subscribed, you better check with them.

if you have the unlocked version for T-mobile. then you should go back to where you got it from and try to change it. it is a software problem that only the manufacturer can fix it.

if you have the cingular branded with cingular service. call them and they will walk you through the steps to turn on the caller ID.

Had that problem myself, if you copy all your numbers from your old phone onto your simcard then dump them onto the W810i if you then add another number onto the phone's address book under that name but still have the phone using sim and phone then it goe's a bit nuts copy all your numbers from the simcard to the phone and set it to just use the phone. you can always back up the phone onto your pc if you're worried about losing your numbers. also make sure there aren't more than one entry for the number with slight *****ing differences cause that does the same.
