Hey guys, I was just wondering if anybody had any tips on how to conserve the battery of the W580. I read somewhere that the Fitness Application takes up a lot of the battery... how do I turn it off?
Thanks.

Hello, and welcome to CPF.
I can't help you out with the Fitness app because I've never owned a W580i. However, there are a few simple things that you can do to conserve battery life: lower the brightess of the display, lower the loudness of your ringtones, don't listen to music at max level, turn off BT, turn off the Pedometer. Doing those little steps will help with the performance of the battery.Favorite Quote:

Re: W580 - How to conserve battery
On a related note, I know that when you're charing your battery, you should wait until it's just about dead, otherwise you could hurt the performance of the battery.
Now, somebody told me that this does not matter for newer phones, because they use a different battery. So now you can charge it pretty much anytime without worrying about damaging the battery. Is this true, and does it relate to the W580, which just came out a couple of months ago, I believe.

Charging the battery when it's almost empty isn't mandatory anymore. Like you pointed out, newer phones can be charged whenever.
