    Re: C905 Ear piece broke?

In what way has it become broken? If it's a detached wire, you may be able to solder it back in place. If it's a cracked earphone, you probably won't be able to fix this. Sony Ericsson headsets are fairly cheap nowadays. You can get a pair off the net for practically nothing.

You would need to open it up. the earpiece's head should be detachable (though it can be difficult to open). To be honest, I would just get a new headset. Things like headsets can be a nuisance to repair - the flaw could lie anywhere in the wire and you'd never be able to locate that.

    Repairing the earpiece on c905

I contacted sony ericsson and they said they are able to repair the handset for free IF you have proof of purchase, so, what happens if you are like me and don't have proof of purchase? They said they can not estimate the fee it will cost until the handset reaches to the engineers to fix, and the fee will be estimated and emailed to us. We can choose whether to agree or disagree with the fee, if we disagree it will cost us £11 to return back to us UNREPAIRED.

Does anybody know how much it will cost if we agree to the estimated fee?

    Thanks

Why do you need to send the handset in? If it's the headset that's the problem, the handset shouldn't need to be messed with .

Just a side note, try to keep all posts of the same topic in one thread. I've merged both of your threads on the subject. Thanks

Hi. Actually I don't think its your earphone-speaker that is broken, it's most likely a combination of firmware and week of your production-model.

To test this, you can make a call to your C905 phone, and hold in the C-button while speaking. If the speaker works, you most likely have a C905 produced before "08W45" (Year 2008, week 45). You can check this by looking at the numbers under your battery.

If this is the case, I would say it definitly is a production-flaw, you as a innocent consumer should not take the expenses.

You should take your phone to your dealer, they should have a list with IMEI/serial-numbers of all C905 phones ordered to their store. If they find yours, ask them to give you a receipt.

Hope it works out for you
