    Hello.
As I am new to SE i thought that this would be the best place to start searching the answers to my questions, because Google didn't help.
    So, let's start, shall we?

A week ago I bought a Sony Ericsson W890i and I love it.
But there are some things that my old Nokia could do but the SE can't, so I thought mabey it can.
But I couldn't find how to do it, so I am seeking for help.

    1) Nokia had a neet feature to put a clock as a sreensaver, so I didn't have to push a button to see time. Can SE do that?
    2) When I put an mp3 for an sms alert, the mp3 is played only for a few secons. My old nokia played the whole mp3 and then stopped playing. Is it possible to do that on my SE? Because this is really annoying me. I have specially made a mp3 for my sms sound but it gets cut at 5 or 6 seconds. I need my sms tone to be atleast 20 seconds long before I hear it. So, is there a way to do this?
    3) The W890i is kinda slow, when I start the player and a song is playing, it gets really laggy. Is it like that in all SE or is there a some kind of a glitch?
    4) Is there a good site for SE themes?
    5) What are the optimal setting for the camera? I am really impressed with it. Good for a mobile on a sunny day.
    6) If I don't use the mobile internet, do I need EDGE on? Does it weaken the battery life? Can I turn it off?

    That's kinda it, for now.

I would really appreciate any help, regarding those questions. Thanks in advance.

Re: Couple Of Things For a Beginner

I do not own a Sony Ericsson anymore. However, I had a K800i a few months ago, so I shall attempt to answer your questions based on memory.

    1) I know this is possible. I had it on my K800i and I can't see any reason why they would remove such a feature in an upgraded model. The option will be under the "settings" section. Possibly under the "display" tab.

    2) I can't really answer this, since I used one of the default SMS tones. I think the primary reason for this is that unlike calls, there isn't someone waiting for you to pick up, so therefore there's no need for a tone that goes on and on until you do if you get what I mean. A notification is all that's necessary, though I will admit it could be more flexible to the users preference...

    3) This won't be a glitch. Sony Ericssons are known to be slow when things get hot - especially if you're using branded menus set by your carrier. There's not really a way round this if your phone is unbranded. If it's branded (ie: has loads of operator icons on it), then you could get it unbranded to improve the performance. The only other thing I can suggest is a firmware update. There are often fixes in these that will improve the speed of the phone quite noticeably.

    4) Give this site a go

    5) I found that the automatic settings worked best on my K800i. All I ever needed to adjust was the brightness with the joystick every so often. Then again, mine was a CyberShot, but I can't imagine the quality will be much different for a Walkman Phone.

    6) EDGE is entirely to do with mobile internet, so no, you don't need it on if you don't use it. You should be able to turn it off in the same way I was able to disable 3G when needed by swiching the phone to GSM only mode. I can't quite remember, but I believe this was under "settings" and then the "connectivity" tab. I'm not too sure, but it's there somewhere...

I hope this answers a few of your questions. Like I said this is purely from memory, so I appologise if any of the information is incorrect. Good luck, and enjoy your new W890i .
