My w580i screen went dark and will not display anything. I purchased a new phone, but need to transfer files from the w580i to the new phone. The phone stores have the machine that will do this, but the instructions involve making selections when the data transfer cable is connected to the side of the phone. Is there a 'schematic' that will allow me to enter the correct keystrokes while 'blind'?

Re: W580i defective, how to transfer data?
Go to a store where there is a live one (not just a demo) and walk through the keystrokes with that one at the same time as your "blind" one. I used to work with those MobileGenies that do the transfers. The Samsung that we had only worked sometimes so I would hit up the AT&T store. Their machines are quite nice.
Also, pretty much the only thing that can be transferred are your phone numbers. Most of the time, pictures and songs don't transfer. Especially to Blackberrys.

Re: W580i defective, how to transfer data?
Agreed that having a live one would be best. Unfortunately, we are changing carriers, so the store did not have one to mimic. At this juncture, we just basically are going to give up and see if there is a way to get the files on our computer and then transfer that way rather than phone to phone.
I appreciate all of the suggestions!
