I have a Sony Ericsson K790a. I'd like to get an extra BST-33 battery to carry in case my main battery runs down while I'm using it, especially using the camera which causes the battery to run down quickly.
Would a cheap third-party battery off of eBay be alright for this? Or should I buy an OEM battery?
What are the dangers of using a third party battery? I keep reading they can damage phones but can't find any specifics about how. Could it cause the memory card to be wiped or anything?
And could anyone recommend a reliable website to purchase a battery (either OEM or third party)?

Re: Replacement BST-33 Battery for Sony Ericsson K790
It's usualy better to use original batteries. Third party batteries tend to last much less then the original ones. There's also a warranty issue, if the third party battery damages your phone SE won't repair it under warranty. So I would go for the original.
if your from the netherlands or belgium you can find the battery here: mobielbereikbaar.nl/product/sony-ericsson-bst-33-accu-origineel-2
