Enabling STAMINA and Low Battery Mode:
- While viewing the home screen, tap the "Applications" icon
- Tap "Settings"
- Under "Device", tap "Power management"
- Tap the switches associated with "STAMINA mode" and "Low battery mode" and set them to "ON"
Enabling and Editing Battery Saving Mode:
- Tap the "Apps" icon located on the home screen
- Tap "Settings"
- Under "Device", tap "Power management"
- Perform the following:
- To edit STAMINA mode:
- Tap "STAMINA mode"
- Press the switch next to "STAMINA mode" to set it to "ON"
- Tap "Activation" and drag the "Battery level" slider to the desired percentage
- Tap "OK"
- Optionally, add or remove apps from the "Apps Active in Standby" list
- To Edit Low Battery Mode:
- Tap "Low battery mode"
- Touch the "Low battery mode" switch and turn on the feature
- Edit the "Screen brightness" and "Screen timeout" settings as desired
- Mark or clear the check boxes associated with "Vibrate on touch", "Auto-sync off", "Mobile data off" etc.
- To edit STAMINA mode:
Decreasing the Screen Timeout Duration and Lowering the Brightness:
- Tap the "Apps" icon while on the home screen
- Tap "Settings"
- Under "Device", tap "Display"
- Tap "Brightness" and clear the "Adapt to lighting conditions" check box
- Drag the "Brightness" slider to the left and leave it to a lower but visible level
- Tap "OK"
- Touch "Sleep" and select a lower value, such as "15 seconds"
Disabling Wi-Fi, Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot, Bluetooth and GPS:
In order to maximize battery life, it's very important that you disable Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS whenever these features are not in use.
- From any home screen, slide the "Notification" bar down
- Tap the icons associated with "Wi-Fi", "Bluetooth" and "Location", to turn off these features
- Tap the "Settings" icon located in the top-right corner
- Tap "More" under "Wireless & Networks"
- Tap "Tethering and Mobile HotSpot"
- Clear the check box next to "Mobile HotSpot"
Reduce Auto-Sync Settings for Apps:
- Tap the "Applications" icon while on the home screen
- Tap "Settings"
- Under "Accounts", choose the type of account that you wish to edit
- Select your account name if necessary
- Clear the check boxes next to the features that you wish to disable automatic sync to
Disabling Background Data:
- Open the apps drawer and tap "Settings"
- Under "Wireless & Networks", tap "Data usage"
- Tap the "Menu" icon located in the top-right corner
- Mark the check box next to "Restrict background data"
Minimizing the Usage of Third Party Applications:
- While on a home screen, tap the "Apps" icon
- Open "Settings"
- Tap "Apps" under" Device"
- Swipe to the "Downloaded" screen
- Choose the desired app
- Select either "Disable" to turn off the app, or "Uninstall" to completely remove it
- Tap "OK" to confirm
Switching from 4G Connectivity to WCDMA:
- Launch the apps drawer and tap "Settings"
- Tap "More" under "Wireless & Networks"
- Scroll to and tap "Mobile networks" > "Network mode"
- Tap "WCDMA"
Updating Your Phone to the Latest Software:
NOTE: Assuming that no new software update is available, following the steps below will not give any results in battery life. This guide works only if Sony has launched a new software update that fixes potential battery life issues, or improves the smartphone's power management system.
- Tap the "Apps" icon from the home screen, and open "Settings"
- Under "System", tap "About phone"
- Tap "Software update". In case a new update is available, follow the on-screen instructions to download and apply it on your Xperia C
