Enabling STAMINA and Low Battery Mode:

  1. While viewing the home screen, tap the "Applications" icon
  2. Tap "Settings"
  3. Under "Device", tap "Power management"
  4. Tap the switches associated with "STAMINA mode" and "Low battery mode" and set them to "ON"

Enabling and Editing Battery Saving Mode:

  1. Tap the "Apps" icon located on the home screen
  2. Tap "Settings"
  3. Under "Device", tap "Power management"
  4. Perform the following:
    • To edit STAMINA mode:
      1. Tap "STAMINA mode"
      2. Press the switch next to "STAMINA mode" to set it to "ON"
      3. Tap "Activation" and drag the "Battery level" slider to the desired percentage
      4. Tap "OK"
      5. Optionally, add or remove apps from the "Apps Active in Standby" list
    • To Edit Low Battery Mode:
      1. Tap "Low battery mode"
      2. Touch the "Low battery mode" switch and turn on the feature
      3. Edit the "Screen brightness" and "Screen timeout" settings as desired
      4. Mark or clear the check boxes associated with "Vibrate on touch", "Auto-sync off", "Mobile data off" etc.

Decreasing the Screen Timeout Duration and Lowering the Brightness:

  1. Tap the "Apps" icon while on the home screen
  2. Tap "Settings"
  3. Under "Device", tap "Display"
  4. Tap "Brightness" and clear the "Adapt to lighting conditions" check box
  5. Drag the "Brightness" slider to the left and leave it to a lower but visible level
  6. Tap "OK"
  7. Touch "Sleep" and select a lower value, such as "15 seconds"

Disabling Wi-Fi, Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot, Bluetooth and GPS:

In order to maximize battery life, it's very important that you disable Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS whenever these features are not in use.

  1. From any home screen, slide the "Notification" bar down
  2. Tap the icons associated with "Wi-Fi", "Bluetooth" and "Location", to turn off these features
  3. Tap the "Settings" icon located in the top-right corner
  4. Tap "More" under "Wireless & Networks"
  5. Tap "Tethering and Mobile HotSpot"
  6. Clear the check box next to "Mobile HotSpot"

Reduce Auto-Sync Settings for Apps:

  1. Tap the "Applications" icon while on the home screen
  2. Tap "Settings"
  3. Under "Accounts", choose the type of account that you wish to edit
  4. Select your account name if necessary
  5. Clear the check boxes next to the features that you wish to disable automatic sync to

Disabling Background Data:

  1. Open the apps drawer and tap "Settings"
  2. Under "Wireless & Networks", tap "Data usage"
  3. Tap the "Menu" icon located in the top-right corner
  4. Mark the check box next to "Restrict background data"

Minimizing the Usage of Third Party Applications:

  1. While on a home screen, tap the "Apps" icon
  2. Open "Settings"
  3. Tap "Apps" under" Device"
  4. Swipe to the "Downloaded" screen
  5. Choose the desired app
  6. Select either "Disable" to turn off the app, or "Uninstall" to completely remove it
  7. Tap "OK" to confirm

Switching from 4G Connectivity to WCDMA:

  1. Launch the apps drawer and tap "Settings"
  2. Tap "More" under "Wireless & Networks"
  3. Scroll to and tap "Mobile networks" > "Network mode"
  4. Tap "WCDMA"

Updating Your Phone to the Latest Software:

NOTE: Assuming that no new software update is available, following the steps below will not give any results in battery life. This guide works only if Sony has launched a new software update that fixes potential battery life issues, or improves the smartphone's power management system.

  1. Tap the "Apps" icon from the home screen, and open "Settings"
  2. Under "System", tap "About phone"
  3. Tap "Software update". In case a new update is available, follow the on-screen instructions to download and apply it on your Xperia C
