Transferring Audio Files from a Windows PC to the Xperia Z3 Compact:

  1. Connect the Xperia Z3 Compact to your computer via USB
  2. In the AutoPlay window on the computer, click to browse the phone's files and folders
  3. Double-click the "Internal storage" directory and access the "Music" and / or "Notifications" folder
  4. In a second Windows Explorer window, navigate to where the audio files are stored on your PC
  5. Copy the files and paste them in the phone's "Music" and / or "Notifications" directories
  6. After the transfer is done, click the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon located in the system tray
  7. Click "Safely Remove Mass Storage Device"
  8. Click "OK" and safely disconnect your smartphone from the computer

Changing the Phone's Ringtone:

  1. From the home screen, tap "Apps"
  2. Go to "Settings"
  3. Swipe to "Device" and tap "Sound"
  4. Under "Ringtone & Vibrations", tap "Phone ringtone"
  5. Tap the "Music" icon from the top-right corner of the screen
  6. Select the audio file you want to use as your phone's ringtone
  7. Tap "Done" to confirm and save the changes

Changing a Specific Contact's Ringtone:

NOTE: Custom ringtones can't be assigned to contacts stored on the SIM card or the phone's internal storage

  1. Open the "Phone" application
  2. Go to the "Contacts" tab (located in the top-right corner)
  3. Tap the contact you want to edit and tap the "Edit contact" icon
  4. Tap the drop-down "Ringtone" menu
  5. Tap the "Music" icon located in the upper-right area of the screen
  6. Select the desired ringtone and tap "Done" to save the changes

Changing the Phone's Notification Sound:

  1. Access the phone's "Settings" menu
  2. Scroll to "Device" and tap "Sound"
  3. Tap "Default notification sound" under "System"
  4. Files that have been added to the "Notifications" folder recently should be listed at the bottom
  5. Select the notification sound you wish to use
  6. Tap "Done"
