Clearing an App's Data / Cache:

NOTE: In case an application doesn't work properly then you could try fixing these issues by clearing the app's cache or data. WARNING! Clearing an app's data will result in the deletion of all personal information within the application, such as credit card and login information, high scores and profiles, saved games, settings etc. It's recommended that you first try clearing the cache to prevent losing data.

  1. From the home screen, tap "Apps"
  2. Go to "Settings" and swipe to "Device"
  3. Tap "Apps" and go to the "All" or "Downloaded" screen
  4. Select the app that causes issues
  5. Tap "Clear cache". If this didn't solve the problems, tap "Clear data" > "OK"

Wiping the Phone's Cache Partition:

NOTE: In case your smartphone isn't working as intended and you're considering factory resetting it to solve these issues, then you might want to wipe the cache partition before applying the reset. Wiping the phone's cache can solve a number of problems without losing personal data stored on the internal memory. To clear the cache:

  1. Turn off the smartphone
  2. Press and hold the "Volume Up" and "Power" buttons at the same time
  3. Wait for the smartphone to vibrate three times
  4. After the screen turns off, release all hardware keys
  5. The cache partition should now be cleared. Press "Power" to reboot your smartphone

Entering Safe Mode and Removing an App:

NOTE: In case one (or more) of your downloaded applications is causing problems on your smartphone while preventing you from uninstalling it when running tasks / processes in the background, then you can easily remove it by rebooting the phone in safe mode first. In safe mode, all third party apps are disabled. To enter safe mode and remove an app:

  1. Ensure that the smartphone is turned on
  2. Press and hold the "Power" button
  3. Tap and hold "Power off"
  4. When prompted a bout "Safe Mode", tap "OK" and wait for the device to restart
  5. After the phone reboots, it should display a "Safe Mode" label in the lower-left corner of the screen
  6. Tap "Apps" while on the home screen and go to "Settings"
  7. Scroll to "Device" and tap "Apps"
  8. Swipe to the "Downloaded" screen and select the app you wish to remove
  9. Tap "Uninstall" > "OK"
  10. To exit safe mode, press and hold "Power" and tap "Power off". With the smartphone shut down, press and hold the "Power" key to reboot the device as you normally would
