Transfer Audio Files from a Windows PC:
- Connect the Sony Xperia M5 to your computer via USB
- Make sure the phone is connected as a media device
- Open an Explorer window on the computer, and locate the desired audio files on the PC storage
- Copy the files, and navigate to the phone storage
- Paste the files in the media directory, preferably in the “Music” and “Notifications” folders
- Once the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage from the system tray
- Safely disconnect the phone from the USB
Change the Phone Ringtone:
- Tap “Apps” on the home screen
- Open “Settings”
- Under “Device”, tap “Sound”
- Tap “phone ringtone” under “Ringtone & Vibration”
- Tap the “Music” icon and select the file you want to use for ringtones
- Tap “Done”
Change the Ringtone of a Specific Contact:
NOTE: Custom ringtones cannot be assigned to contacts stored on the phone’s internal memory or the SIM card.
- Tap “Phone” on the home screen
- Access the “Contacts” tab
- Select the desired contact
- Tap “Edit” shaped like a pencil
- Scroll to and tap the “Ringtone” drop-down menu
- Select the desired ringtone and tap “Done”
Change the Notification Sound:
- Go to “Settings”
- Scroll to “Device” and tap “Sound”
- Tap “Default notification sound” under “System”
- Select the desired notification sound (NOTE: Newly added notifications will be found at the bottom of the list)
- Tap “Done”
