Using iTunes:

NOTE: Using iTunes on a computer with access to the Internet, you can sync your iPhone contacts with your Google account. You can then register the same account on the Xperia Z5 Compact and share the account data (contacts) with the device

  1. Open iTunes on the computer
  2. Connect the iPhone to your PC via USB
  3. Click the iPhone in iTunes to access the summary page
  4. Open the “Info” tab and turn on “Sync Contacts With
  5. From the drop-down menu choose “Google Contacts
  6. Sign in with your Google account, or alternatively, click “Configure” and select an existing account
  7. Click “Apply” and the sync will begin
  8. Once done, switch to the Xperia Z5 Compact and register the same Google account as the one used in iTunes
  9. Allow the account to sync contacts with your Sony smartphone

Using iCloud:

NOTE: If you have used the iCloud backup service on your iPhone before, your contacts should already be backed up on your iCloud account. If so, you can access the account on a computer connected to the Internet, and export the contacts in vCard format.

  1. Open the Internet browser on the PC
  2. Visit https://www.icloud.com/
  3. Sign in with your iCloud account
  4. Click “Contacts” and select the contacts you want to export
  5. Click “Settings” > “Export vCard
  6. Wait for the vCard to be downloaded on the PC. Once done, import it to “Google Contacts
  7. Alternatively, skip the step above and instead, connect the Xperia Z5 Compact to your computer via USB. Then open “Contacts” and import the vCard’s contents to your phonebook

Using “My Contacts Backup”:

NOTE: While the methods above require a computer with Internet access, you can also transfer your contacts using third party applications, such as My Contacts Backup. MCB is an iOS app that can back up and transfer your iPhone contacts via email.

  1. Open the App Store and install “My Contacts Backup” on the iPhone
  2. Launch the application and tap “Backup
  3. Once the backup file is done, tap “Email
  4. Make sure the vCard backup file is attached to the email
  5. Send the email to your own address
  6. On the Sony device, open the email and download the attached file
  7. Import the file’s contents using the “Contacts” app

Via “Send Anywhere”:

NOTE: Send Anywhere is another third party application for Android and iOS, which can be used to transfer contacts and other types of files over a P2P connection, without requiring a computer.

  1. Visit the App Store and install “Send Anywhere” on the iPhone
  2. Go to the Play Store and install the app on the Sony device
  3. Open the application on both handsets
  4. On the iPhone, tap “Send” and choose “Contacts
  5. Select the contacts you want to share and tap “Send
  6. Lastly, select a method of transfer. You can tap “Receive” on the Xperia Z5 Compact and enter the transfer code generated on the iPhone, or tap “Generate QR Code” on the iPhone and scan the code with the Compact’s camera to start the transfer
