Enable Battery Saving Mode:
- Tap Apps on the home screen
- Open Settings
- Swipe to Device
- Tap Power management and enable STAMINA mode
- Select the percentage of battery at which STAMINA mode turns on automatically and tap OK
- You can customize which apps are affected by STAMINA mode from the list of Apps Active in Standby
- Enable Low Battery Mode
- To customize how Low Battery Mode works, tap to enable or disable features such as Wi-Fi, Vibrate on touch etc.
Disable Wi-Fi, Hotspot, GPS, and Bluetooth:
NOTE: You might be able to improve battery life in the long run if you disable the phones connectivity features
- On the home screen, drag the Notification bar down
- Tap the tiles associated with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Location (GPS) to disable the features
- Go to Settings
- Under Wireless & Networks, tap More
- Tap Tethering and Mobile Hotspot
- Clear Mobile Hotspot
Switch from 4G to 2G:
- Access the Settings menu
- Under Wireless & Networks, tap More
- Tap Mobile networks > Network mode and select 2G
Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:
- Go to the phones Settings menu
- Scroll to Device and tap Display
- Tap Brightness and clear Adapt to light conditions if necessary
- Drag the brightness slider to the left
- Tap OK
- Tap Sleep and select a lower timeout value, such as 15 seconds
Change Sync Settings:
NOTE: By setting your phone / accounts to sync less data or less often, you can improve battery life in the long run.
- Go to Settings
- Scroll under Accounts and select the desired account type
- Select an account
- Clear the check boxes next to the sync options you want to turn off
Disable Background Data:
- Tap Apps and open Settings
- Under Wireless & Networks, tap Data usage
- Tap Menu and enable Restrict background data
Minimize the Use of Third Party Apps:
NOTE: Some of the third party applications on your phone can affect battery life even if you dont use them assuming that the respective applications run regular background processes. As such, you can disable or remove unused apps to improve battery life.
- Open Settings
- Tap Apps under Device
- Scroll to Downloaded and select the desired application
- Tap Disable to turn off the app
- To remove the app, tap Uninstall > OK
Keep the OS Updated:
NOTE: Software updates can include battery life improvements. Its recommended that you check for new updates regularly, and keep your phone updated.
- Go to Settings
- Swipe down to System and tap About phone
- Tap Software update
- If an update is available, follow the on-screen instructions to download and install it
