Enable Battery Saving Mode:

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Open “Settings”
  3. Swipe to “Device”
  4. Tap “Power management” and enable “STAMINA mode”
  5. Select the percentage of battery at which STAMINA mode turns on automatically and tap “OK”
  6. You can customize which apps are affected by STAMINA mode from the list of “Apps Active in Standby”
  7. Enable “Low Battery Mode”
  8. To customize how Low Battery Mode works, tap to enable or disable features such as “Wi-Fi”, “Vibrate on touch” etc.

Disable Wi-Fi, Hotspot, GPS, and Bluetooth:

NOTE: You might be able to improve battery life in the long run if you disable the phone’s connectivity features

  1. On the home screen, drag the “Notification” bar down
  2. Tap the tiles associated with “Wi-Fi”, “Bluetooth” and “Location” (GPS) to disable the features
  3. Go to “Settings”
  4. Under “Wireless & Networks”, tap “More”
  5. Tap “Tethering and Mobile Hotspot”
  6. Clear “Mobile Hotspot”

Switch from 4G to 2G:

  1. Access the “Settings” menu
  2. Under “Wireless & Networks”, tap “More”
  3. Tap “Mobile networks” > “Network mode” and select “2G”

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. Go to the phone’s “Settings” menu
  2. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Display”
  3. Tap “Brightness” and clear “Adapt to light conditions” if necessary
  4. Drag the “brightness” slider to the left
  5. Tap “OK”
  6. Tap “Sleep” and select a lower timeout value, such as “15 seconds”

Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: By setting your phone / accounts to sync less data or less often, you can improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Go to “Settings”
  2. Scroll under “Accounts” and select the desired account type
  3. Select an account
  4. Clear the check boxes next to the sync options you want to turn off

Disable Background Data:

  1. Tap “Apps” and open “Settings”
  2. Under “Wireless & Networks”, tap “Data usage”
  3. Tap “Menu” and enable “Restrict background data”

Minimize the Use of Third Party Apps:

NOTE: Some of the third party applications on your phone can affect battery life even if you don’t use them – assuming that the respective applications run regular background processes. As such, you can disable or remove unused apps to improve battery life.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Tap “Apps” under “Device”
  3. Scroll to “Downloaded” and select the desired application
  4. Tap “Disable” to turn off the app
  5. To remove the app, tap “Uninstall” > “OK”

Keep the OS Updated:

NOTE: Software updates can include battery life improvements. It’s recommended that you check for new updates regularly, and keep your phone updated.

  1. Go to “Settings”
  2. Swipe down to “System” and tap “About phone”
  3. Tap “Software update”
  4. If an update is available, follow the on-screen instructions to download and install it
