Transfer Audio Files from a Windows Computer:

  1. Establish a USB connection between the Xperia and computer
  2. Drag the “notification” bar down on the home screen and set the connection to “Media device (MTP)
  3. On the PC, open Explorer and locate the desired audio files
  4. Copy the files and transfer them on the phone memory, preferably in the “Media” directory (Ringtones and Notifications)
  5. After the transfer is done eject the phone storage from the system tray
  6. Safely disconnect the device from the USB

Change the Ringtone:

  1. Open the apps drawer and launch “Settings
  2. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Sound
  3. Tap “phone ringtone” under “Ringtone & vibration
  4. Tap the “Music” icon
  5. Select a ringtone and tap “Done

Change the Ringtone of a Contact:

NOTE: You cannot set custom ringtones for contacts stored on the SIM card or the internal memory.

  1. Open “Phone” and tap the “Contacts” tab
  2. Select the desired contact
  3. Tap “Edit” (icon depicting a pencil)
  4. Tap the “Ringtone” drop-down menu and select a ringtone
  5. Tap “Done

Change the Notification Sound:

  1. Open the “Settings” menu
  2. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Sound
  3. Under “System”, tap “Default notification sound
  4. Select the notification you want to use (NOTE: Files freshly added in the “Notifications” folder on the phone will appear at the bottom of the list)
  5. Tap “Done
