Transfer Audio Files from a Windows Computer:
- Establish a USB connection between the Xperia and computer
- Drag the “notification” bar down on the home screen and set the connection to “Media device (MTP)”
- On the PC, open Explorer and locate the desired audio files
- Copy the files and transfer them on the phone memory, preferably in the “Media” directory (Ringtones and Notifications)
- After the transfer is done eject the phone storage from the system tray
- Safely disconnect the device from the USB
Change the Ringtone:
- Open the apps drawer and launch “Settings”
- Scroll to “Device” and tap “Sound”
- Tap “phone ringtone” under “Ringtone & vibration”
- Tap the “Music” icon
- Select a ringtone and tap “Done”
Change the Ringtone of a Contact:
NOTE: You cannot set custom ringtones for contacts stored on the SIM card or the internal memory.
- Open “Phone” and tap the “Contacts” tab
- Select the desired contact
- Tap “Edit” (icon depicting a pencil)
- Tap the “Ringtone” drop-down menu and select a ringtone
- Tap “Done”
Change the Notification Sound:
- Open the “Settings” menu
- Scroll to “Device” and tap “Sound”
- Under “System”, tap “Default notification sound”
- Select the notification you want to use (NOTE: Files freshly added in the “Notifications” folder on the phone will appear at the bottom of the list)
- Tap “Done”
