How-to: Sony Xperia E5: Block / Unblock Calls & Messages; Manage Call Forwarding

Block Incoming Calls:

1. Open “Contacts”
2. Access “All Contacts”
3. Select the contact / phone number you wish to block
4. Tap “Edit” > “Menu”
5. Enable “All calls to voicemail”

Unblock Calls:

1. Launch “Contacts”
2. Go to “All Contacts” and tap the contact you want to unblock
3. Tap “Edit” > “Menu”
4. Turn off “All calls to voicemail”

Block Messages via Google Messenger:

1. Open Google “Messenger”
2. Tap the message thread exchanged with the phone number / contacts you want to block
3. Tap “Menu”
4. Access “People & options”
5. Tap “Block [phone number]” > “OK”

NOTE: The blocked conversation thread will be archived, and so will all the future messages received from the blocked contact / number. In addition, you will no longer receive notifications for messages from the blocked contact / number.

Unblock Messages via Google Messenger:

1. Open Google “Messenger”
2. Tap “Menu” > “Archived”
3. Select the conversation thread exchanged with the phone number / contact you want to unblock
4. Tap “Menu” > “Unarchive”
5. Tap “Menu” again and access “People & Options”
6. Tap “Unblock [phone number]”

Enable Call Forwarding:

1. Tap “Phone” on the home screen
2. Go to “Menu”
3. Tap “Settings” and access “Call forwarding” (NOTE: This option might be unavailable if it is unsupported by your carrier)
4. Enter the phone number or select the contact you want to use for call forwarding
5. Tap “Enable”

Turn On Conditional Call Forwarding:

1. Tap “Phone” on the home screen
2. Tap “Menu”
3. Access “Settings” and tap “Call forwarding”
4. Select to forward incoming calls “When unanswered”, “When unreachable” or “When busy”
5. Enter or edit the phone number you want to forward calls to
6. Tap “Enable” or “Update”

Disable Call Forwarding:

1. Launch “Phone”
2. Tap “Menu”
3. Access “Settings”
4. Tap “Call forwarding” and select the forwarding option you want to disable
5. Tap “Disable” to confirm
