Back Up & Restore App Data:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Backup & reset”
  3. Enable “Back up my data” to back up app data, Wi-Fi passwords, and settings to your backup account
  4. Enable “Automatic restore” to allow app data, settings, and Wi-Fi passwords to be automatically restored upon reinstalling apps or when you sign in with the backup account

Back Up & Restore Contacts:

  1. Launch “Contacts”
  2. Go to “All contacts”
  3. Select an account type and the account you want to use for the backup
  4. Tick the “Contacts” check box and tap “Menu” > “Sync Now”

NOTE: You can restore the contacts the next time you log in to the backup account.

Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:

  1. Connect the Sony device to the computer via USB
  2. Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” at the prompt or from the Notification area
  3. Open the File Explorer on the computer
  4. Copy and transfer the files in the desired backup location on the computer
  5. Once the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect it from the USB port

Restore Media Files from a Windows PC:

  1. Connect the Android device to the computer via USB
  2. Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” when prompted or from the notification area
  3. Open the File Explorer on the computer
  4. Locate the media file backups on the computer
  5. Copy and paste the files to the phone storage, preferably in the “Media” directory or the folders from where the files originate
  6. Once the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB
