Back Up & Restore App Data:
- Open “Settings”
- Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Backup & reset”
- Enable “Back up my data” to back up app data, Wi-Fi passwords, and settings to your backup account
- Enable “Automatic restore” to allow app data, settings, and Wi-Fi passwords to be automatically restored upon reinstalling apps or when you sign in with the backup account
Back Up & Restore Contacts:
- Launch “Contacts”
- Go to “All contacts”
- Select an account type and the account you want to use for the backup
- Tick the “Contacts” check box and tap “Menu” > “Sync Now”
NOTE: You can restore the contacts the next time you log in to the backup account.
Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:
- Connect the Sony device to the computer via USB
- Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” at the prompt or from the Notification area
- Open the File Explorer on the computer
- Copy and transfer the files in the desired backup location on the computer
- Once the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect it from the USB port
Restore Media Files from a Windows PC:
- Connect the Android device to the computer via USB
- Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” when prompted or from the notification area
- Open the File Explorer on the computer
- Locate the media file backups on the computer
- Copy and paste the files to the phone storage, preferably in the “Media” directory or the folders from where the files originate
- Once the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB
