Share iPhone Contacts via iTunes:
NOTE: You can use iTunes on a computer with Internet access to sync the contacts on your iPhone with your Google account. You can then sync the account data, including contacts, with the Android device.
- Connect the iPhone to the computer via USB
- Launch iTunes on the computer
- Once connected, click the iPhone in iTunes and go to Info
- Enable Sync Contacts With
- Select Google Contacts from the drop-down menu
- Log in with your Google account or click Configure and select an existing account
- Click Apply to start the sync
- Once the sync is done, switch to the Android device and log in with the same account used in iTunes
- Allow the account to sync contacts with the Android phone
Share iPhone Contacts from iCloud:
NOTE: If your iPhone contacts have been backed up on your iCloud account, you can access the account on a computer with Internet access and export the contacts in a vCard file for Android use.
- Launch the Internet browser on the computer
- Visit https://www.icloud.com/
- Log in with your iCloud account and access Contacts
- Select the desired contacts to share
- Click Settings > Export vCard
- Once the vCard has been downloaded, follow one of the steps below:
- Launch the Internet browser on the computer and import the vCard to the phonebook via Google Contacts, or:
- Connect the Android phone to the computer via USB, transfer the vCard to the phone storage and use Contacts to import the vCard to the phonebook
Using My Contacts Backup:
NOTE: While the two methods above require a computer with Internet access, alternatively you can share your iPhone contacts using third party applications. My Contacts Backup is an iOS app that can back up and share iPhone contacts via email.
- Visit the App Store and install My Contacts Backup on the iPhone
- Launch the app and tap Backup to create a vCard containing your iPhone contacts
- After the vCard is created, tap Email
- Compose a new email ensuring the vCard is attached
- Send the email and attachment to your own address
- Switch to the Android phone and open the email
- Download the vCard attachment and import it using Contacts
Via Send Anywhere:
NOTE: Another third party app you can use is Send Anywhere, available on Android and iOS. The app uses a peer-2-peer connection to share contacts and other file types without requiring a computer.
- Visit the App Store and install Send Anywhere on the iPhone
- Install the same app on the Android device via the Play Store
- Launch the app on both smartphones
- On the iPhone, tap Send > Contacts
- Select the desired contacts and tap Send
- Lastly, choose a transfer method on one of the phones and follow the on-screen steps
