Back Up & Restore App Data:
- Open “Settings”
- Scroll to “Personal”
- Tap “Backup & reset”
- Enable “Back up my data” to back up app data, Wi-Fi passwords and settings to your backup account
- Enable “Automatic restore” to allow settings, Wi-Fi passwords, and app data to be automatically restored when reinstalling apps or logging in with the backup account
Back Up & Restore Contacts:
- Launch “Contacts”
- Go to “All contacts”
- Select the account type and account you want to use for the backup
- Tick the “Contacts” check box
- Tap “Menu” > “Sync Now”
NOTE: You can restore contacts the next time you sign in with the backup account.
Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:
- Connect the Android phone to the computer via USB
- Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” at the prompt or from the Notification area
- Launch the File Explorer on the computer
- Copy and paste the files in the desired backup location on the PC storage
- Once the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB
Restore Media Files from a Windows PC:
- Connect the Android device to the computer via USB
- Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” when prompted or from the Notification area
- Launch the File Explorer on the computer
- Locate the media file backups on the PC and copy them
- Transfer the files back to the phone storage, preferably in the “Media” directory
- Once done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB port
