Back Up & Restore App Data:

  1. Open “Settings
  2. Scroll to “Personal
  3. Tap “Backup & reset
  4. Enable “Back up my data” to back up app data, Wi-Fi passwords and settings to your backup account
  5. Enable “Automatic restore” to allow settings, Wi-Fi passwords, and app data to be automatically restored when reinstalling apps or logging in with the backup account

Back Up & Restore Contacts:

  1. Launch “Contacts
  2. Go to “All contacts
  3. Select the account type and account you want to use for the backup
  4. Tick the “Contacts” check box
  5. Tap “Menu” > “Sync Now

NOTE: You can restore contacts the next time you sign in with the backup account.

Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:

  1. Connect the Android phone to the computer via USB
  2. Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” at the prompt or from the Notification area
  3. Launch the File Explorer on the computer
  4. Copy and paste the files in the desired backup location on the PC storage
  5. Once the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB

Restore Media Files from a Windows PC:

  1. Connect the Android device to the computer via USB
  2. Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” when prompted or from the Notification area
  3. Launch the File Explorer on the computer
  4. Locate the media file backups on the PC and copy them
  5. Transfer the files back to the phone storage, preferably in the “Media” directory
  6. Once done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB port
