Back Up & Restore App Data:
- Open “Settings”
- Scroll to “personal”
- Tap “Backup & reset”
- Enable “Back up my data” to back up app data, Wi-Fi passwords, and settings to your backup account
- Enable “Automatic restore” to allow app data, settings, and Wi-Fi passwords to be automatically restored the next time you reinstall the apps or sign in with the backup account
Back Up & Restore Contacts:
- Launch “Contacts”
- Go to “All contacts”
- Select an account type and the account you want to use for syncing the contacts
- Tick the “Contacts” check box
- Tap “Menu” > “Sync Now”
NOTE: You can restore contacts the next time you sign in with the backup account.
Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:
- Connect the Android device to the computer via USB
- Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” at the prompt or from the Notification area
- Launch the File Explorer on the computer
- Copy and transfer the files in the desired backup location on the computer
- Once the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord
Restore Media Files form a PC:
- Connect the Android device to the computer via USB
- Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” when prompted or from the Notification area
- Launch the File Explorer on the computer
- Locate the media file backups on the PC storage
- Copy and paste the files back to the phone storage, preferably in the “Media” directory or the folders from where they originate
- Once the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB cord
