Ok so there I was bored and browsing thru this board and noticed that a lot of you are trying to figure out how to use your brand new cute as a button Sprint PCS phone that you just bought from the store...as a modem.

    Well, here's the lowdown...

    1. Go get a USB connection for your phone. They can be purchased from many computer department stores (one that I know of is Best Buy for sure). If there is not one near you, for instance, you live in the boon-docks...then you can get one directly from www.futuredial.com and make sure you get the correct model that matches your phone. These things cost like 20 bucks or so--very cheap--less than the price of a month's phone bill hehe.

    2. Install the USB Driver from futuredial : http://www.futuredial.com/support/us...rs/Drivers.htm

    3. Connect your phone (duh), Make sure you can query/poll your phone as a modem through control panel.....

    4. Download the standard dialer from Sprint. Still using your regular internet connection, go to sprintpcs.com, and log into your sprint PCS online account. Go to your personal managing page (first page that loads once you're logged in). Look on the right hand column for the section "My Options". Click on "Download Software".

There are 2 toggle boxes, (ymmv)I chose WinXP, and the second box populates, I chose the "PCS Connection (SM) Software", this is only 7.1MB. The other one (the one referencing USB is like 71MB so I didn't bother with it).

You don't have to pay didly squat, you don't have to "buy the specialized dialer software" from futuredial...you just "Save Target As" and put it somewhere you can access and install.

    3. After installing the standard dialer software, run it, configure it, and click "go." It should work fine. Be sure your phone has a decent reception, and surf the net at your heart's content!

NOW......if that does NOT work for you....after completing previously mentioned steps 1, 2 and 3, try this....I have heard it works but never had to resort to it.

    1. New Dial Up Networking Connection

    2. Select Phone as modem

    3. #777 for phone number

    4. blank username and password

    5. click connect

Ok so there you have it...happy surfing on the road!

Hope this helps. MODS, feel free to sticky this =D

If you have any questions feel free to contact me: [email protected] and i'll do what i can to help.
