Why cant all phones be available to everyone. I have to enter a different town for it to say I am covered, even though all of minnesota is full on service and we have a sprint store and 2 or 3 other places that sell sprint phones and plans. I entered minneapolis to get it to work and there is no blade on there for me. I was planning to goto t-mobile since i got a sidekick 2 but this plan is great. Are you able to use a sidekick with sprint or is there a way I can get more phones available. I currently have sprint so I know it works great here and I have someone willing to take over my plan if I get a new one.

I admit that everyone does this once in a while unintentionally and it's only natural for a thread to occasionally get off-topic. However, this is not the best way to get a question answered, and it would be better to start a new thread if you want your question noticed. I'll have this question split into a new thread for you this time. Check your private messages .)

Well the whole cause of my question is because I bought a sidekick 2 already on ebay. I always thought that you could buy any phone and just put your service over on it until my friend asked me "are you sure that phone will work with sprint?" Then I went around looking and realized that I had a problem now. I guess I will just stick with my current phone until april when I move and then I can goto tmobile and get my new phone along with my plan and sell the extra one to someone else.

aaron, Brad is right, diffrent companys use diffrent technology.. like nextel has iden, etc.. i wish you could use any phone with any company too. that would be INCREDIBLY great as well as easy! but, if that was the case, people would buy the phone of their choice from one company and use it with another, leaving the company they bought the phone with, customerless.. so in a way, its brilliant. cause, it goes like this, u want our phone? u stay with us. as brad said, no, u cannot use the sidekick with ANY other company BUT tmobile, since it is a tmobile phone. i have the sidekick and i love it!! =)
Aaron, its good that u say that cause when i go and type in my city zip code, certain phones show up and then ill put my ex city of east boston and the particular phone i saw with my current city, wont be there anymore!! i have always wondered why that was, i guess its just the stores in your area and if they have that model or not. thats the only logical thing that makes sense to me..R.i.P MB.LD.AA
