radioshack employee discount phone upgrade??

Hi, my boyfriend worked for radioshack for 2 years and recieved an employee discount. He still has the employee discount, but he no longer works for radioshack. He desperatley needs a new phone. Can he buy a new phone and have it activated without having to change his employee plan?? Also can i give him my old sprin phone and have it activated?

If he got a Cingular demo phone from radioshack, hes lucky because all he has to do is go on ebay.com and purchase any cingular phone and insert his sim card. If he got the Sprint demo plan, hes screwed. Tell him to go hang himself, because when he calls to activate the new sprint phone, they update the plan to a normal plan and get him out of the demo employee plan. : )
