My 2 year contract ended in March with Sprint. My LG Fusic phone recently started giving me problems.

Problem 1 started about 4 days ago:

T9 text punctuation has gone crazy. I have to select "," to get a "." or "!" to get a "?" It's all messed up!! Sometimes it acts right then I get the wrong punctuation because I am getting used to doing it the wrong / new way

I called Sprint friday about the problem and was told I could add the $7 monthly insurance over the phone and would be sent a new replacement phone at no charge. I would have like 15 days to send in the old phone. I asked if my contract would be renewed or would I have to keep insurance for "X" amount of time. I was told, "your contract would NOT be renewed and you would not have to keep insurance on the phone even though I recommend it."

Sounds a little to good to be true.

    Problem 2 just started yesterday:

Love listening to music with the headphones. One ear piece stopped working, so now only have music in one ear. BIG problem as I listen to the music on my phone daily!!!

So, I need to get this fixed. My phone is still working nicely minus the 2 problems. The 2nd problem is most likely the ear piece and not the phone.

Is the CSR person telling me legit info about getting a new phone for $7?

I did a google search on "Sprint insurance" and see people are having to pay deductibles and getting refurbished phones on top of that! Maybe poilicy has changed since their experience with the company?!?!?!

    Thanks for any feedback!

You can have your phone replaced for free without insurance if due to mechanical failure or if you just don't like the phone and want to trade within the first thirty days from the activation of the first phone in your case the fusic. Yes insurance is $7 and can only be added within the first thirty days of activation and does not affect your contract dates. The only time your contract is affected is if you are renewing your contract (duh) or if you want to be qualified for any equipment discounts i.e. the $75 savings and the $150 savings for the one and two year renewal respectively. You may cancel the insurance at anytime at no cost except for the portion of the month that you have already used, catch is you cannot place it back on your line until you get a new phone. The t9 issue sounds like a software issue to be determined by a tech, same thing for the headphone issue.
