I was gone for 3 1/2 months my sprint bill was not paid. When I came back I contacted Sprint was willing to pay my bill in full, until sprint informed me that my acount had been closed and I could not get my old phone number back. It's been 6 months now anyone have any idea how long they will hold on to my old number? Will they ever release it? I have had the same number for over 10 years. Sprint Sucks Help please is there a Way??

Re: How can I get Sprint to release my old phone number?
Virgin Mobile is an MVNO operating on the Sprint network and issues Sprint phone numbers.
This probably won't work, but try calling Virgin Mobile's pre-paid activation line at 1-888-322-1122 and ask them if your old number is available to be assigned to a Virgin Mobile pre-paid phone. If they say yes, then buy a cheap Virgin pre-paid phone at Walmart or Target and activate it with your old number. After 30 days you could then port the number to any pre-paid or contract phone with any carrier other than Sprint/Nextel/Boost. Just keep in mind that if they ask for your home zip code, make sure you give them one that is consistent with the area code of your old phone number.Last edited by Ericinphilly; 06-28-2009 at 05:29 PM.
