    Hello all,

I have mixed emotions about this prorated etf that sprint now has. It is a great thing for someone who is willing to cancel early and they won't have to pay $200. i just have mixed feelings because i bought my phone 2 weeks before this all happened (nov 8 2008) and i'm stuck paying $200 to cancel my contract. does anyone think sprint will allow me to cancel under the prorated amount since i was only 2 weeks away from the change?

    worth a try....

No matter when you activated service...Sprint is required, by law, to prorate the Early Termination Fee.

It actually wasn't their choice...they were forced to offer a policy like this after a lawsuit.

Bring up the prorated policy...tell them you know about it.

If this doesn't work...request to speak with a supervisor.

If that doesn't work, then file a complaint at the Better Business Bureau and the FCC.

I'll give you a little hint . Sprint won't bind you to your contract and ETF if you are unable to get satisfactory signal or service where you live.
