    Question: How to get new customer pricing on new phone with plan upgrade?

    History: Currently 5 phones, 2000 Free and Clear plan, Premier account ( 10 yrs). 4 phones out of contract, phone #5 still has 1 yr left out of 2 yr contract. -

    We want to upgrade to Data Everything Plan, upgrade to all new smartphones.
    However that 1 phone (#5) still under contract, they are saying I need to pay the retail ($500) minus 75 bucks to get full discount on this phone. No way am I going to pay that.

    Have read all the threads about going up to the Customer Retention Specialist and 'ASK" for the discount on this one phone.
    Any suggestions? What odds do you give me for success?
    Hopefully i can do the deal next week Thanks for any advice.

    Keep calling them, tell them you wil go to another carrier if Sprint wont deal.

    Thanks for the reply - going to call in the morning when everyone has had their coffee and maybe in a good mood ! Up to this point the retail reps have advised for me to get the new phone is to have my wife upgrade her phone to a new one ( she is out of contract - I'M the one that is not) then they could assign that phone over to my line but then again - she'd have to keep one of our old phones. Altho she really only uses her phone up to this point for calls, I still am going to try for all of us to be upgraded. keep you posted

    Does Customer Service log each time you call, the contents of your call? Wondering if one Rep denies helping you, if I were to call again, still trying to get some satisfaction, the next rep would see Sprint already denied my first request, they'd just shrug and say 'sorry"?

    I suspect they keep a log, and the more you call the Customer Retention Specialist, the more they know that you mean bussiness.
    Be prepared to quote the better plan offered by another carrier.

    Double smile. .Asked for and received my discount this week. After I beat the company store folks to death with questions, I was advised the key word I needed to use when I called CS to obtain a full upgrade price was to " reset my eligibility" and "my work requires me to have Blackberry capability" . I suppose the facts we upgrading from a free and clear plan to a everything data with 5 new smartphones helped also. And of course a new 2 yr contract. My new everything share data 1500 minutes, 5 phones TOTAL is $174 /mo. Only $17 more per month than my old free and clear !

    How it worked was I paid the retail price of the phone at the store, charged to my bill and CS then called me back a few days later and credited back the money to = the full discount. Tried to talk my way out of the $18 activation fees but my luck ran out.

    One more ? that came up.
    I was checking out sprint $ of some accessories as the store folks had mentioned all our lines can get the premier member discount of 25%. OK, but then the store noted in the system " Hmm doesn't indicate you are premier anymore" - 10 yr account- so called CS. They said as I have a corporate discount i cannot also receive the premier status. very strange - even the sprint store folks said never heard of that. i'll beat on that another day.

    Now have to figure out how to drive this BlackBerry TOUR.

    You should still be a premier account, don't forget you have 30 days to switch to another carrier with no ETF and sprint now has more to lose than you do.

    Call back retentions double check and make sure they did not remove it from your account if they did demand they turn it back on or advise them of your decision that you are going leave to verizon.

    This should solve your problem if one existes and you don't need to leave if you don't want too just don't let them in on that tidbit
