I will preface this question by stating I do not know much about cell phones and cell phone plans but here goes
I have had for some time now the old sprint employee discount unlimited data 500 minute any time talk and free after 7pm for about 42.00 amonth
I do not want to give up that plan but I would like to ditch the old phone that I have and move up to the palm
I see all these palms around (amazon.com for example) for about 80.00
Can I buy one of those phones ..take it to a sprint store and have them transfer the service to the phone that I purchase?
I would not object that in order for them (sprint) to activate the phone that they restart my current phone plan
    Any ideas/suggestion?
    Thanks!

You can get an old school Palm phone activated on your plan, however you will not be able to activate the new Palm PRE or PIXIE.

Be sure before you purchase a phone on ebay it has a clean ESN or you will have an expensive paperweight.

    Agreed with the post above.

You will need a newer data plan for the Palm Pre, since it is one of our newer smartphones.

Make SURE that the esn number is clean. We cannot activate a phone if it's still linked to someone else's account.

Just because someone sells you a phone, and they say they had it on an account but now it's cancelled doesn't guaruntee you anything.
If that person's account was cancelled/written off for non-payment, yes, it is cancelled. But the esn will be locked to that account as long as it still has a balance owing on it.
And there would be NOTHING we could do for you if that happened.

    Good luck!
