    Hello all,

Just wondering, and I have searched this forum as well as the internet for the answer to this question, so I apologize if it slipped through the cracks.

My wife and I are on the "Everything Data Share 1500" plan and she just got an upgrade and got a Blackberry Curve 8530 for free but they told me that I was not eligible for an upgrade until October (or 22 months into the contract).

I went to the Sprint store today to ask them if this was correct (the fact that she was eligible for an upgrade but not me even though we signed the 2yr contract on the same day).

They said, yes unfortunately because she is the Primary line, she is eligible for an upgrade, but not me. I have to wait 22 months from December 2008.

My question is, has anyone had any luck with switching Primary lines and thus becoming eligible for an upgrade too?

That was the suggestion the Sprint guy gave me, but I'm not sure if it's true and if I should go through all the hassle to switch lines if it is not going to work.

Has anyone had experience with this?

    Thanks,

    Eric

I haven't had any experience with this, but it seems to me that it won't work because your primary line just had it's upgrade. If you switch, your primary line doesn't change, just the phone number associated with it. Your recent upgrade will still show on the primary line.

I think I must have worded the post wrong because I see your point.

I guess the Customer Rep's theory was that if I switch not only the number but the actual primary account (ie person responsible for payment) then I would be eligible for an upgrade. So, we would not be just switching a number but also the account holder.

Don't know if that will make any difference.

    Thanks,

    Eric

I don't know quite what you mean,
But I upgraded my 1500 everything plan from a Treo 755p to the BlackBerry 8530 and
I added a new line and bought a BlackBerry 8530. Both phones cost the same amount after the rebate.
